Short Hair Care and Maintenance

Some people cut their hair short in hope of getting a low maintenance hair. Although this may be true in a few short hairstyles, this is far from reality. Care and maintenance for short hair can actually be tedious than you thought.

Here are some tips for short hair care and maintenance

Regular salon visits

For one, short hair grows in varied rate and lengths. If you opt to go with texture and layers for your short hair, it can grow uneven and unsightly in a few weeks time. You would lose the look and the original style of your hair eventually. This is why it is important that you visit your salon for a regular haircut if you want to keep your short hair in style. Short hair maintenance needs a lot of patience. It is recommended that you visit your salon bi-weekly. If you have a short bob, this would require less maintenance. A monthly trim at the salon would do.

Add volume to your hair

Short hairstyle always needs a lift to add life to it. Make sure that you always have your volumizer with you. Apply this to your roots with you fingers. Doing so would give fullness to your short hair.

Daily short hair care

One thing good about short hair is that you do not need to worry about split ends. Short hair is less prone to split ends compared to long hair. It is important though to keep your hair healthy by using shampoo and conditioner when you shower. Make sure that you use hair styling products that are gentle to your hair and avoid products with strong ingredients and harsh chemicals.

Brushing

Having a ‘wash and wear’ haircut does not mean that it does not require brushing or maintenance. Make it a point to brush your hair after a shower and when needed. This would untangle your hair and keep your hair shiny and healthy.

These are just a few tips on short hair care and maintenance. Eating the right food and keeping your general health at prime can also do wonders to your short hair cut.
